Weve been using Cloud Baby Monitor since 2014 and have always been impressed.
But Im writing this review now for 2 reasons:
1) while we lived Cloud Baby Monitor from the beginning, we primarily used it when we were away or taking trips. Wed had the standard baby monitor at home since 2009 (before we had smart phones), so Cloud Baby Monitor App helped primarily to save us from having to pack the hardware monitor when we took trips.
But recently, our hardware monitor completely broke down (6 years after we bought a relatively high end hardware monitor that was not abused, but was used daily).
Before we went out and spent another couple hundred dollars to replace it, we decided to give Cloud Baby Monitor a try as our permanent monitor - and we havent looked back since. It does more than our hardware monitor did, including being able to change the brightness of the nightlight for our kids, talk to them, and monitor them via video and audio. And that doesnt even account for the fact that the unlimited range is also available when we need it.
2) The other point that others may not be aware of is how involved the developer is and how great his costumer service is. Very few people probably have to reach out for customer service since the App just works and doesnt have issues. But Im the sort of person who likes to ask about future features or make feature requests. Within hours of filling out the feedback form, I would get replies from Mr. Man, with thoughtful answers regarding the possibilities, explanations of the limitations, and asking if things were working for me. One suggestion I had back in 2014 about being able to adjust the brightness of the LED actually became a feature soon after and I hadnt even noticed.
The stories abound about how its hard for individual programmers to make money on the App Store, so its especially remarkable to see a programmer whos developed the already feature-full perfect app, continue to provide amazing customer service even from customers who purchased the app years ago. Very Impressive!
